Make Do and Mend Challenge Check In -Week 2

Make Do and Mend Challenge: Well week two. And I have been mending things for Christmas. I know it must be Christmas- Like I said to the gal at the hardware store- It must be Halloween- You guys got all the Christmas stuff up! Still working on the siding- almost finished! Every gable I do I find faster and better ways to do this. As for other things I fixed this week- Took a Pig Shaped cutting board my mom had (she actually collects these!) and routed it out to put a clock work in so she can hang it up with the other pig cutting boards in her kitchen, for Christmas, And I reupholstered an old headboard for her for Christmas as well. Fixed the lock on the back door.

Cleaned dog hair out of vaccum cleaner bag with needle nose pliers to avoid driving to store and spending $20 on new bags:)

When the vehicle broke down, my hubby rode over on his bike with tools and supplies to see what he could do. Forty-five minutes and a fair quantity of duct tape later, we were on our way home. The duct tape was sufficient to hold a hose onto a broken plastic fitting until I could drop the vehicle off at the repair shop. Unfortunately, duct tape is not a permanent answer in this case.

Next two repairs needed also deal with plastic fatigue and transportation: broken tab on my bike pump and broken clasps on his Xtracycle.

Replaced missing nut on wagon handle. Mended daughter's stuffed animal and backpack, hubby's PJ's and t-shirt, my mittens and scarf. Installed clothes line in basement to avoid using the dryer this winter.

I've been working on repairing my market basket. Unfortunately, it turned into a bigger project than I anticipated and I'm having to disassemble the entire handle, make the repair and reassemble. It's currently soaking until the reed gets pliable enough so it won't crack when I work with it.
Otherwise, it's been a slow week here since my MIL has been here for the past few days and kind of messed up my routine.
