Eating out with Romeo

We have a restaurant here in Burien, that is pretty good about remembering people have pets (dogs) The Mark is a cool little spot with front and back patios, where your canine family members can have a bite as well. Romeo and I had lunch there the other day... they even have a special menu for the canine crowd. The food is Stews from the Natural Pet Pantry up the street, and is made fresh for the pooches (yes this is the same dog food I was once tempted to eat) Mark Owner Debra George, a dog owner herself (She has a very nice LabraDoodle) always thinks of folks dogs. Her restaurant also hosts a Santa Photo Party for dogs and cats each year! Romeo now proclaims Mark Restaurant as his favorite.
Nom, nom nom- this is good!

The Night Kitchen - A restaurant for the nite owls

Okay I know I am not a pro chef, or a foodie, I just love good food and every once in awhile need to write about great food experiences-

Every once in awhile, something great happens on the late shift that makes you glad to work nights. The Night Kitchen in downtown Seattle is one of those things. Chef Avalon Zanoni’s Pacific Northwest-styled take on New American Cuisine incorporates favorite dishes from all over the US. The Night Kitchen has hours that most would find unusual-6pm to 9am- The perfect restaurant for local night owls.Their menu includes comfort foods, lots of local cheeses and veggies from local farmers. People can eat and relax in the dining room or in the lounge with drink and snack service for those who want to relax and play a game or get some work done.
Martin had the Mac and Cheese

This trip I had the cheese board, a selection of three cheese chosen from their menu board, Fig Confiture, Crostini followed by a serving of Fries, that came with their homemade dipping sauces. I particularily liked how the fries were served, in a metal vase lined with paper. like a big ice cream cone- very smart! The prices are moderate to high, in concordance to the quality of the food. Dinner served from 6pm to midnight and after midnight, late-night snacks plus a full breakfast menu. As they say there is nothing better than breakfast in the middle of the night. Amd I must agree.

Damn- I gotta work today. Oh well, gives me an excuse to go to Aloha Hawaiian Grill, where they serve great Hawaiin BBQ. I don't know about you, but I just love a good BBQ Hawaiian. They also have Spam Musubi, or rather "sushi". And they serve so much, I am sure I will have leftovers to make Chazuke. Chazuke is a Rice soup made with green tea, and I have been experimenting with other ingredients besides salmon, I have made it with chicken, veggies, and am going to try eggs.

Hey Paisan!!! Two great spots to eat

This post is not for the faint of stomach- it involves Hot Dogs and sandwiches with cheez-whiz on them. Hey- I cant be good all the time. Read on at your own risk!
Lately I have been discovering a few restaurants that deserve mention here. Not that they are necessarily sustainable, but that they are damn good!
Hey Paison! Santone’s Italian Sandwiches- You will feel like you are in a Soprano’s episode when you walk in. There are pictures of The ratpack, Frank, Dino and Sammy. Then Ronnie Santone, the owner greeted me with a boisterous Hey Paison! Immediately you feel like family! Then I ordered the best sandwich ever- the Philly Cheese steak with fried onions and a smattering of cheez-whiz. Next time I’m gonna try Ronnie’s cannelloni! The sandwich to go was wrapped in foil-so at least it wasn’t Styrofoam and unlike so called delis like Quisno’s and Subway- no plastic bag! And the sandwich was to die for. I now know what they serve in heaven for lunch! Don’t believe me?- just look at the wonderful reviews~
Now my other favorite lunch spot, Matt’s Gourmet Hot Dogs were they "Guarantee you'll love their food or Matt is an idiot", is a lot like Santone’s in that you feel like you have been coming there for years. He takes an out of town favorite, a Chicago style hot dog, and makes it a Seattle tradition. I think their dogs are locally made. I order the chili dog because it is the best thing there! Quirky little restaurants that are clean, Friendly, and now I know what they serve for a late night snack in heaven! And my chili dogs are wrapped only in paper and put in a paper bag! Very Cool!
