SNOW JOB 2010

Are you planning on traveling this winter? If so is your car winter-ready? Well, as Jean-Luc Picard says make it so! All this week this blog will be devoted to Winter Ready cars!

Get the right kind of oil change- if your car is getting due for an oil change... make sure that you get the right viscosity oil. Your mechanic should know whats right for your car and the weather in your area... or check your owners manual. Viscosity is the thickness of the oil. Oil tends to thicken as it gets colder, and if it’s too thick it won’t do the best job of keeping your engine lubricated. So make sure what's what with your oil

Can you talk about how to prep your car for limited use in the winter? I moved close to my job so I'm only using my car about once a week (40 minutes each direction). Thanks!

I have a car fir the first time ever this winter and prepping it for winter had not even occurred to me yet. I'm gonna go find the manual and see what is has to say. Thanks for the post, looking forward to the rest of the series.
