GOOD NEWS FOR FAKE PLASTIC FISHES!

I have found it! About a year or so ago Ms. Beth was wondering how to get a commuter mug with no plastic whatsoever. At that time I came up with how to make one out of a Canning jar/mug. One of my first posts on my DIY page. But, Not being one to give up, I have found one! This pricey Titanium mug for hikers. It doubles a a camp pot so you can cook with it. The only problem is it does come with a mesh storage bag, And Beth's cat "Soots" loves to nom plastic. But that can be reused. Hopefully before "Soots" eats it. Muggsly
And unlike my beloved Muggsly, the lid is made of titanium/metal as well. As for me, I am saving the $35 and keeping with Muggsly, but if you look long enough you can find what you want! And now I know there is a replacement for Muggsly. Just kidding Muggsly. I would never replace you! (And no, I haven't been obsessing for over a year on finding a mug- I just happened to be "windows" shopping REI and came across it, and remembered Beth needed a mug!)

I AM fake plastic fish! (minus the trashy photos)

Okay so Beth is asking us to live like her for a week. And put up trashy pictures. Like I would ever pose for a trashy picture- well, there was that one time in college...Hey... I needed the money. Anyway I digress- on her post today, she threw down the gauntlet (and incorporated Soots the cat)for us all to tally our plastic garbage use, and maybe put up a pic or two for posterity- I can do this. I have a sleek black cat (who doesn't nom plastic but hey he noms spaghetti and pizza) Just live plastic free for one week. Just keep thinking W.W.F.P.F.D.? (What would Fake Plastic Fish do?) So I accept Ms. Terry's challenge. Provided I don't have to pose for any trashy photos. I will start Monday so as to get a full week on my weekly challenge post.
UPDATE: As Condo Blues points out, the idea is not to see how little plastic you can do, but rather to see your normal total usage for a week. Got it. Thanks CB!

Dear Miss Oprah...

Oprah- I doubt you read this blog as busy as you are. But hopefully someone on your staff reads blogs. Especially Fake Plastic Fish. Beth is definitely a Super Earth Mother, and you need to read her blog. She is an inspiration to us all. Here is a video letter she wrote to you.

I hope you get the opportunity to take a look at her blog. Beth inspires us (or at least me) To use less plastic in the house and in the world. Because of her and other eco-bloggers, I take my own bags to stores, carry my own stainless steel coffee cup and water bottle everywhere, re-use things like plastic pop bottles in the garden, quit using my polluting lawn tractor, grow my own food, reuse boxes in my garden. Yes even make my own fertilizer!
So you see Oprah, you need to mention Beth's blog on your show! Better yet send Gayle to visit her. Thank You- Rob Johnson aka Robj98168

FAKE PLASTIC FISH

I stumbled on this blog Fake Plastic Fish- it is amazing to me some lengths people will go to help the planet- I don't know if I could be as dedicated as Beth on reducing my plastic output, but I sure give her snaps for trying. No Frozen convieniance food? You go girl!
