CRUNCHY DOMESTIC GODDESS’ DITCH THE DISPOSABLES CHALLENGE Final post: Silly Me- I didn’t realize this challenge had ended. And here I was going through Pioneer Week like all was good with the world! Anyway, A quick summation about this challenge: I chose to not use disposable take out and coffee cups. The coffee cups was easy, the take out not so much! I did fairly well on the coffee, taking my trusty Stainless steel mug with me, until I forgot it at a picket site- And to whomever in my Union has it now, I hope your lips fall off! Anyway I have a back up stainless steel commuter mug that is not my favorite but does the job.
The take out- not as good. I learned that if I want to reduce the waste from take out, Then I just don’t order take out. But knowing that, I choose to make wiser choices. Pizza without the plastic thing in the middle, choosing food that is put into compostable containers over Styrofoam. Anyway great challenge- I had fun!

There is one Chinese restaurant in our town who delivers the goods in re-usable plastic containers whihc are a perfect size for freezing leftovers. This has earned them my undying devotion.
I love restaurants that do things like that- we must SUPPORT these restaurants
