Guilt by shopping bag association

Wow-local folks are upset with the new Seattle Charge for plastic Shopping bags! And it doesnt even affect the city of Burien! I went shopping today and was verbally abused by a couple of old farts sitting in a used Merc yelling "there goes another one of those goddamn tree huggers!" While being called "Tree hugger" has never upset me in the past, I couldn't for life of me figure out why I was being singled out now? Then it dawned on me...I was carrying my shopping bag! Not being one to miss an argument, I turned around and marched up to the two older gents vehicle and in my most threatening, loudest voice said..."That's right, we took over Seattle and this city is next. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile! There is no escape from the collective."

You never saw two senior citizens get out of a parking lot so fast in your life.

Some days are worth getting up for!

OMG, you kill me! Wish you were with me yesterday when some redneck accused me of "pulling into a parking space too fast". I'm the avoidance type, so I was just all like, "whatever" and he was all like "yeah, figures with an Obama sticker".

Yeah, because we all know democrats are sucky parkers.

Bastard.

I found out the news about Seattle, and now I really want to move there! People think I'm a freak in materialistic Orange County, Ca, with my cloth bags, and apples and organic broccoli rolling down the conveyor belt loose! Did I hear that they banned styrofoam too? Hopefully, other cities will follow! Cool!

I'm telling you, there's something in the air these days... the hostility seems to be escalating. Oh well. Carry on!

Thanks for a good laugh this morning.

But it's a shame that there's a contingent that thinks "Treehuggers" are out to "ruin their fun". By what? Actually giving a da*n about the earth. Gee buddy, ya think it's an inexhaustible resource? Sheesh.

And don't get me started about the military ships dumping their garbage in the ocean. I suppose cruise ships do the same thing. AAAARGH.

BURBS- I would of been on him like dog dhit ona tennis shoe. And those republicans that park their giant vehicles in compact parking spots (my pet peeve)

Jennifer- You have a conceyor belt? with broccoli on it? 8-o

Verde- thank you

Tara- I am not a hostile person. But I am very crabby. I don't back down from abuse, directed at me or at others. comes from old age

Meadowlark- we have already addressesd that issue. Cruise ships are not allowed to dump their potty waste in PUget sound. Nope. Of cOURSE THEY JUST dump WHEN THEY ARE ACROSS THE STATE LINE, lets not fool ourselves!

Oh no, Rob! I didn't mean that YOU were hostile - I meant hostility coming at us greenies from the "normal folks". THAT seems to be escalating! Sorry if I wasn't clear. :)

Tara - No offense was taken. Just let it be a warning to "normal" folks not to fuck with me!
